My dream vacation is to take my kids (ages 13 and 15) to the southwest part of the United States to see the amazing beauty that Arizona, Nevada and Utah have to offer. My husband and I went a couple of years ago and we were blown away by the stunning landscape of the Grand Canyon. Now that my kids are old enough to remember it, I want them to experience it too.

My plan would be to fly into Las Vegas and do some sight-seeing in the city. We come from a small rural upstate NY town. I think our kids would be in awe of seeing the replica of the Eifel Tower, watching the venetian gondola’s glide down the canal and seeing the sky-line at NY-NY.

After a few days of taking it all in, we would drive the outskirts of Las Vegas. Our first stop would be the Red Rock Canyon, Las Vegas. We would take the scenic drive through the canyon and maybe get out and hike a trail or two.

The next day, we would head east to Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon. We would pack water and snacks and hike some trails, taking in the beauty of the red rocks, the blue sky and the fresh air. After that, we would head south to Horseshoe Bend and then Antelope Canyon.

After exploring and hiking and learning about the local culture, we would drive to the Grand Canyon. I would hope to see elk, deer and other wildlife along the way. Our final stop would be to Sedona Arizona. I want my kids to see the breathtaking scenery and hike to the top of Cathedral Rock. I also want them to experience the Pink Jeep Tour in Sedona. I feel like this would be a vacation of a lifetime for our family and would create unforgettable memories.”
