1. Via 313 Pizza

“Known for its famous Detroit-style pizza, Via 313 offers a variety of distinctively Austin pies and is one of my favorite restaurants in Austin. Their pizzas are a must-have lunch or dinner. I recommend trying The Cadillac pizza with arugula. Mmmm, delish!”

2. Amy's Ice Cream

“With over 350 creative ice cream creations in rotation, every visit to Amy’s Ice Cream will be a new and exciting experience. Amy’s is one of my favorite places to relax with friends and family and enjoy a scoop of frosty deliciousness.”

3. The Escape Game

“Although Austin is full of escape rooms, this one is by far my favorite. You and your team will have 60 minutes to uncover clues, crack codes, and complete your mission. Their many unique rooms are perfect for all explorers, adventurers, and risk-takers.”

4. Museum of the Weird

“Austin is known for its alternative, weird culture — and the Museum of the Weird is no exception to that image. Located in the heart of 6th street downtown, this shop and museum is full of strange objects from around the world ready to amuse and amaze you.”

5. Gourdough’s

“Everything is bigger in Texas, and Gourdough’s donuts are no exception. Now with two Austin locations, they serve up delicious, Texas-sized donuts, each with their own flavor profile. I highly recommend splitting the Mother Clucker — it’s like chicken and waffles, but with donuts. Do I need to say more?”

6. Rowing Dock on Ladybird Lake

“Whether you’re looking for a fun outdoor activity for the family or are in the mood for sightseeing on the water, a visit to the Rowing Dock on Ladybird Lake is the best option for you. It’s the best way to see Austin’s beautiful skyline in a different way.”

7. Peter Pan Mini Golf

“Enjoy an 18-hole Austin tradition perfect for all ages at Peter Pan Mini Golf. Filled with tons of characters, obstacles, and surprises, Peter Pan has something for everyone. As an extra tip: Visit Terry Black’s BBQ located next to Peter Pan Mini Golf for some classic and delicious Texan barbecue.”

8. Torchy's Tacos

“Torchy’s Tacos is the place to go. Starting as a food truck and a dream for Chef Myke Rypka, it’s now turned into a local Austin chain with the best tacos in town. Not only that, but their queso is pretty good if I do say so myself.”

9. Alamo Drafthouse

“In the mood to see a movie? Alamo Drafthouse has tons of classic and modern films for all ages. Be sure to visit one of their dine-in locations to enjoy a great meal paired with a great movie.”

10. Central Library

“The Central Public Library downtown is one of Austin’s crown jewels. With six different floors (and a rooftop terrace) filled with books, magazines, and interactive workspaces, this is for sure one of my favorite places to visit downtown. Be sure to look online to see any upcoming family events!”
