VIP Benefits: Making The Most Of Margaritaville

From city lights to mountain trails, vacations are exciting, exhilarating, and just plain fun. But sometimes you just want a relaxing vacation, something where palm trees, sand, and waves play a major role, and maybe an adult beverage (or two or three). For those times, how fortunate it is that your VIP by Wyndham benefits come with a priceless perk — exclusive early access to book Margaritaville Vacation Club resorts.

During the Standard Reservation Window, a minimum of 50% of Margaritaville Vacation Club resort inventory is held for Club Wyndham owners with VIP status, and you can book it earlier than the non-VIP population too. The standard Club Wyndham booking window for Margaritaville resorts is five months, but it’s six for VIP Bronze and VIP Silver, eight for VIP Gold, and 10 months for VIP Platinum and VIP Founders. It couldn’t be any easier to transport yourself to a spot where flip flops are standard attire and frozen concoctions are always on the menu.

You’re thinking about that frozen concoction now, aren’t you? And you should be — after all, your VIP benefits are pretty awesome. You’re hooked, and now you want a tropical getaway. But which of the magical Margaritaville Vacation Club resorts should you choose? The answer is obvious — all of them, of course. But which to visit first? Read on and find your first pick.

Naturally its beaches are the main draw, where of course you can go swimming, snorkeling, diving, fishing, sailing, and windsurfing. Duty-free shopping is a popular activity, and you won’t want to miss the island’s many first-class shopping areas. It’s an area with a uniquely Caribbean history, and is home to old pirate haunts and many historic colonial buildings, including some that date back to the 17th century. You’ll never be bored in St. Thomas.

Margaritaville Vacation Club - Rio Mar

Resort
Tucked away on Puerto Rico’s northeastern coast just 30 miles from the capital of San Juan, Margaritaville Vacation Club - Rio Mar is truly a hidden gem. Contained within the 500-acre Wyndham Grand® Rio Mar Beach Resort & Spa, the sparkling waters of the Caribbean are in front and the verdant greenery of the El Yunque Rainforest is behind. The property is home to world-class amenities, including 10 restaurants, multiple boutiques, a luxury spa, golf course, and even a casino (as well as the classic pool area with swim-up bar). This resort offers spacious studio, one-, and three-bedroom suites, featuring either ocean or mountain views. Each has either a partial or full kitchen and a private balcony or deck. As you’ve guessed, every suite has its own Frozen Concoction Maker®, so the biggest question you’ll have to answer that day is “salt or no salt?”

Area
Puerto Rico has a myriad of options for visitors, from a day at the beach to exploring a 500-year-old fortress. It is known as the “rum capital of the world,” and there are several producers that offer tours and tastings, including Bacardi. Visit Old San Juan and see the centuries-old colorful Spanish colonial buildings, or spend a day snorkeling or scuba diving in the island’s pristine Caribbean waters.

Margaritaville Vacation Club - Nashville

Resort
There may not be a beach nearby, but Margaritaville Vacation Club - Nashville doesn’t need it — it still has all the sunny days and good vibes of a tropical location, but in the heart of Music City instead. It’s surrounded by the metropolitan Nashville skyline, which means you’ve got stunning city views no matter which way you turn. With on-site dining at the JWB (James “Jimmy” William Buffett) Grill, tasty beverages at Fins Bar, and a caffeinated pick-me-up at the on-site Starbucks, what more could you want? Oh, right — a rooftop lounge and pool area, complete with fire pits and live music.

Suites
This resort offers island-themed studio suites, each with a kitchenette and spacious living area. By now you’re not surprised that every suite has its own Frozen Concoction Maker®, giving you the freedom to turn any hour into happy hour.

Area
Nashville is the mecca for country music fans, and if you fit into that category you won’t want to miss out on top attractions like the Grand Ol’ Opry, Music Row, the Country Music Hall of Fame, and the Johnny Cash Museum. The city has several interesting historical sites from its storied past, including the Hermitage, President Andrew Jackson’s family estate. Nashville is home to an exact replica of the Parthenon, which houses an art museum and cultural center. Don’t forget to check out Nashville’s live music scene — think city-wide tunes every single night.

Margaritaville Vacation Club - Desert Blue

Resort
With more than 300 days of sun in Las Vegas each year, Margaritaville Vacation Club - Desert Blue couldn’t be more perfectly situated for the shorts, flip flops, and sunglasses that any Margaritaville vacation calls for. Featuring a myriad of amenities including multiple pools, cabanas, whirlpools, fire pits, picnic areas, and an arcade, you may just forget that you’re not actually on a tropical island paradise.
