5 Relaxing VIP-Style Vacations
How do you spell vacation? In your world, of course you spell it V-I-P. Those three little letters make all the difference between a regular vacation and an amazing vacation. But there are three more letters that are of equal vacation importance — the three Rs! Rest + Relaxation + Recreation = R3, also known as the recipe for a top tier VIP vacation experience. These five vacation destinations all provide the required ingredients for your R3 vacation. Your VIP status will get you above-and-beyond treatment at each, so naturally they are all worthy of being added to your bucket list. Time to start checking things off!
1. Club Wyndham Sundara at Wisconsin Dells In Baraboo, Wisconsin
Surrounded by the tranquility of the forest, Club Wyndham Sundara at Wisconsin Dells is quietly situated at the end of a winding road in the heart of the Wisconsin Dells. From the stately white pines to the monumental rock formations, this resort is surrounded by enough natural beauty to make it absolute VIP perfection.
Rest: Choose from a 2- or 3-bedroom presidential suite, featuring all the usual luxurious amenities you’ve come to expect, as well as a jetted tub, private patio or balcony, and a gas fireplace for cozy evenings in. It’s the perfect place to lay down and rest your weary toes.
Relaxation: The Sundara Inn and Spa wasn’t voted one of the top 15 destination spa resorts in the U.S. in 2021 for no reason (Conde Nast Traveler: Readers’ Choice Awards 2021). Far from it — this spa prides itself on offering an “oasis of tranquility” on your VIP vacation. Start with their signature “purifying bath ritual,” a 5-step self-guided treatment designed to cleanse your skin and clear your mind. Add on a facial, massage, and full body treatment for a comprehensive head-to-toe relaxation experience.
Recreation: Wisconsin Dells has countless options for good old fashioned family fun. Known for its water parks, many of the parks are indoor/outdoor, offering year-round thrills, splashes, and laughs. The Noah’s Ark Water Park, Kalahari Water Park, Mt. Olympus Theme and Water Park, and Wilderness Territory definitely make the list of the top attractions Wisconsin Dells has to offer.
2. Club Wyndham King Cotton Villas In Edisto Beach, South Carolina
With the serenity of the beach on one side and a peaceful forest and glassy lagoon on the other, Club Wyndham King Cotton Villas on Edisto Island is a VIP vacationer’s paradise. The area’s stately antebellum history and uniquely southern charm make it one place you won’t want to miss.
Rest: Your lavish 3-bedroom presidential suite offers all the creature comforts of home, plus the convenience of a beachfront resort. Rounded out by a private patio or balcony and jetted tub, you’ll feel like royalty when you lay down to rest in this luxurious suite.
Relaxation: Edisto Island’s beach is the best place to relax on the whole island. From the warmth of the silky soft sand to the serene lullaby of the rolling tide, a person could think they’ve died and gone to heaven after a day spent here. Cool off in the surf, warm up in the sun, repeat. Required: Beach towel and a good book.
Recreation: The resort’s on-site 18-hole golf course is the perfect vacation recreation. No need to bring your clubs, just bring your A-game and the resort will have the rest. Edisto Island’s temperate climate lends itself to year-round outdoor activity, no winter coat required. For family fun, check out the resort’s on-site miniature golf course.
3. Margaritaville Vacation Club by Wyndham - Rio Mar In Rio Grande, Puerto Rico
The image of a tropical island creates a picture-perfect vacation — lush palm trees, gorgeous white sand, crystal clear water, and a frozen cocktail (or two, or three). Margaritaville Vacation Club by Wyndham - Rio Mar offers all that and more to the lucky VIP traveler, especially at 5 o’clock.
Rest: Select a deluxe or presidential suite in a variety of sizes, from a studio up to a 3-bedroom, many with ocean views (although the mountain view suites are just as lavish). What could be more restful than sitting on your private patio or balcony, sipping on a frozen concoction, courtesy of the frozen concoction maker in every suite.
Relaxation: Sip a cocktail or two at the on-site bar. Soak your muscles in the steamy hot tub. Get a massage or facial at the on-site Mandara Spa. Sweat your troubles away in the steam room. The relaxation options are seemingly endless.
Recreation: If you’re looking for a diversion from the daily grind, look no further than the Caribbean Sea. Surfing, deep-sea fishing, parasailing, scuba diving, snorkeling, water skiing, and windsurfing are just a few of the tropical vacation experiences available.
4. Club Wyndham Great Smokies Lodge In Sevierville, Tennessee
Tennessee’s Smoky Mountains present the picture-perfect VIP experience, and Club Wyndham Great Smokies Lodge provides your ideal home away from home. From the scenic natural beauty of the mountains, to the abundance of on-site amenities, this resort has the whole shebang.
Rest: Choose from 1-, 2-, 3-, or 4-bedroom deluxe or presidential suites, with a variety of differing views available. You’re accustomed to being treated like a VIP, and these suites won’t disappoint. Relax in your jetted tub, people-watch from the comfort of your private balcony or patio, then feel free to take a nice, restful nap on the comfiest beds around.
Relaxation: The resort’s indoor hot tub offers the perfect opportunity for relaxation and rejuvenation. The sunbathing area is a great spot to put your feet up and relax with a good book or your earbuds and a podcast. And the seasonal lazy river provides the most relaxing, peaceful experience of all.
Recreation: Although this resort has plenty of on-site activities (think indoor water park, miniature golf, and an 18-hole golf course, to name a few), the perfect Tennessee vacation experience must include sampling the local spirits. Visit Sevierville’s Tennessee Legend Distillery and taste their best homemade whiskey and signature moonshine — a Tennessee classic.
5. Club Wyndham Panama City Beach In Panama City Beach, Florida
Florida’s Emerald Coast inspires an abundance of adjectives — peaceful, tranquil, serene, relaxing, and rejuvenating (just to name a few). Club Wyndham Panama City Beach, with its breezy, tropical exterior and convenient beachfront location, affords you the most extra VIP vacation that the Emerald Coast has to offer.
Rest: No matter your party size, this resort has the perfect suite for you. Choose from studio, 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom units with standard, deluxe, or presidential features. Naturally, your suite’s top-of-the-line amenities and private balcony or patio will make your vacation top-notch.
Relaxation: Relaxation is the name of the game at this resort. Lounge on the beach’s white sandy shores, or take a long leisurely walk and let the surf lazily roll over your toes. Soak in the resort’s hot tub (make sure the jets are on), or sit on an inflatable lounger in the resort’s heated pool. Make sure to relax and sip on a refreshing mojito or piña colada at the pool bar.
Recreation: The Emerald Coast is filled with all the usual delights of a beachfront town. Pier Park provides your typical boardwalk, including a world-class confectionery. Ride the Panama City Beach Skywheel, a giant Ferris wheel that is not for the faint of heart. Round out your recreation with a visit to two of the area’s themed attractions, the Gulf World Marine Park and the Shipwreck Island Water Park.
