When planning a special vacation for a soldier coming home, Club Wyndham is here to help. Just ask the Grice family.
Club Wyndham owner and retired military service member Jeff Grice recently found out his eldest son, who is active duty military stationed in Korea, was granted leave and would be returning home before deploying to Iraq. After finding out the news, Jeff wanted to plan a special getaway for the family before his son left.
So, he reached out to Cary Redl, a dedicated Vacation Guide from Owner Services, and told her what he wanted to do. Cary has helped plan many of Jeff’s vacations since he became an owner, but she knew this vacation needed to be extra special.
Cary was able to find the Grice family last minute suites at Birch Bay in Blaine, Washington for two nights. She booked their stay, and then called the resort staff to let them know of the special occasion. The resort team was thrilled to soon welcome the Grice family and quickly got to work to put together something for their trip.
When the Grice family arrived at their suite, they found a beautiful gift basket waiting for them. It included local treats and a picture frame to commemorate their family trip. They even left a card, signed by each member of the Birch Bay staff, thanking Jeff’s son for his service.
Jeff was touched by the resort’s gesture and, soon after checking in, he emailed Cary to show his gratitude.
“Just got here, so far so good,” said Jeff. “I appreciate you mentioning our son, they had an awesome basket for us.”
