Florida Beaches: Which Is Best — East Or West?

A 2022 survey of owners with VIP by Wyndham benefits found that many of the top VIP vacation choices are in Florida. And that’s no surprise! The Sunshine State is known for its beautiful beaches, warm and sunny climate, and wide variety of tourist attractions — all of which make for amazing VIP vacations.

Florida is the third most-populous state for a reason: People love it. But Florida is big, and different areas have different things to offer. The east coast of Florida borders the Atlantic, and is known for its cosmopolitan vibes, golden sand, and an Atlantic breeze that makes outstanding waves for surfing, wakeboarding, and boogie boarding. The west coast of Florida lines the Gulf of Mexico, and is known for its quieter atmosphere, white sand, and calm waters that are perfect for paddleboarding, kayaking, and kid-friendly activities.

Both the east and west coasts of Florida are outstanding VIP vacation choices, but which will best fulfill your vacation dreams? Read on and decide for yourself which will be your next VIP vacation destination.

East: Energetic, Exciting, and Electric

The sun rises in the east, so we’ll start there, too. From St. Augustine in the north to Miami in the south, Florida’s east coast is jam-packed with stunning beaches, posh urban locales, and hip energy — VIP vacation hot spots in abundance.

These two spectacular Club Wyndham resorts on the east coast made the list of top VIP vacation spots:

Club Wyndham Ocean Walk – Daytona Beach

Daytona Beach is one of Florida’s most well-known beaches, and you can’t get any closer to it than Club Wyndham Ocean Walk. This 25-story high-rise sits right on the beach, with a view that can’t be beat.

Featuring amenities any VIP would love, like indoor and outdoor pools, a lazy river, waterslide, game room, miniature golf, and pool bar, this resort will definitely be one of your favs. Bonus: Its convenient location puts you within a short walk of many of Daytona’s top attractions, including the Boardwalk, Bandshell, and Daytona Lagoon.

Club Wyndham Royal Vista – Pompano Beach

Just a short 20-minute drive from Fort Lauderdale sits Pompano Beach, a stunning waterfront area known for its many amazing dive sites. Club Wyndham Royal Vista is right on the beach, and its central location makes exploring the sights easy as pie.

VIP guests will love the resort’s pools, rooftop sundeck, café, and tiki bar. If you can’t make up your mind whether to hit the beach or the pool, at this resort, it’s easy to jump from one to the other and not miss a beat. And the Pompano Beach Pier, with its plethora of activities, is just 1 mile away.

West: Welcoming, Warmhearted, and Winsome

Following the sun toward the horizon brings you to Florida’s west coast. Longer than the other side of the state, Florida’s gulf coastal area is famous for its powder-like, silky-smooth white sand and pristine waters (which are up to 5 degrees warmer than the Atlantic on the east).

VIPs will find an abundance of amazing spots on Florida’s west coast, but these three Club Wyndham resorts made the list of top VIP vacation spots:

Club Wyndham Clearwater Beach – Clearwater Beach

Although it is less than 30 minutes from Tampa, Clearwater Beach feels like a million miles away from the world. The quiet, laid-back atmosphere of the area fits perfectly with the ambiance of Club Wyndham Clearwater Beach, a stunning 15-floor high-rise just across the street from the beach.

The resort’s pool and sundeck will be a hit with VIPs, as will the state-of-the-art fitness center, full-service spa, and private cabanas. You’ll find luxury within, and adventures just out the door — the Pier 60 Park and Parasail City are both just a block away.

Club Wyndham at Majestic Sun – Miramar Beach

Florida’s Emerald Coast is famous for its emerald-hued waters, and Club Wyndham at Majestic Sun is the equivalent of paradise on the panhandle. This gorgeous beachfront resort is just across the street from the white sugar sand of Miramar Beach, and the stunning view is only surpassed by the actual experience of being on the beach itself.

Offering a variety of amenities that would please any VIP guest, including five pools, tennis and pickleball courts, and an on-site 18-hole golf course and driving range, Majestic Sun is majestic indeed.

Club Wyndham Emerald Grande at Destin – Destin

Destin is renowned for being the “world’s luckiest fishing village,” because the area’s famously hungry fish are always biting. Club Wyndham Emerald Grande at Destin is perfectly positioned to do some VIP fishing, because it is located right on a marina!

Featuring a private beach, full-service spa, indoor and outdoor pools, and an on-site bar and grill, you and your fellow VIPs won’t ever want to leave the resort. If you do, though, you’ll find shopping, dining, charter boats, live music, and fireworks at the HarborWalk Village right next to the resort. You’ll never be bored at Emerald Grande!
