Points Basics

Resale Vs. Developer Points

Not all Club Wyndham points come with the same perks. Discover how your points type — Developer or Resale — affects your access to exclusive benefits and programs.

What Are Developer Points?

Developer Points are Club Wyndham points that were:

  • Purchased directly from Wyndham Vacation Resorts or one of its affiliated companies; or
  • Acquired from an “immediate relative” who originally purchased the points directly from Wyndham Vacation Resorts (or its affiliates). "Immediate Relative" currently includes parents, spouses, domestic partners, siblings, children and grandchildren.

These points qualify for the full range of Club Wyndham benefits and programs available to owners who buy directly through Wyndham.

What Are Resale Points?

Resale Points refer to Club Wyndham points purchased from a third party, such as through an external broker, private seller, or resale website, rather than directly from Wyndham Vacation Resorts or its affiliates.

While resale ownership still allows you to enjoy Club Wyndham resort stays and flexible vacation options, certain benefits and programs are not available to points associated with a resale contract.

Why Does It Matter?

The source of your points determines which benefits you’re eligible for.

For example, Resale Points may not be used to participate in the following programs and benefits:

How Can I Tell Which Type I Own?

When you’re logged into your Club Wyndham owner account, you can filter your benefits by Developer or Resale ownership in the Benefit Summary section of your Owner Dashboard.
